The David Murnighan Detachment 161 continues good works in the community such as: Purchasing flags to celebrate Flag Day in June, Supporting Veterans at the VA hospital, and supporting our community by participating in Memorial Day, Veterans Day and Armed Forces Day, and supporting the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program. In addition, our Honor Guard renders Military Honors at the Great Lakes National Cemetery, located in Holly, Michigan and to local fallen veterans in and around Livingston County.

The Marine Corps League is a Non-Profit, Federally recognized veteran’s organization. The David Murnighan Detachment 161 was established June 26, 1984 and is headquartered within the American Legion Hall at 3265 W. Grand River, Howell, MI 48843. All Marines and FMF Navy are welcome to join. Meetings are the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7:30pm at the American Legion Hall.
