TYRONE TOWNSHIP, MI – Following months of internal conflict, official censure, and proven misconduct, a coalition of concerned Tyrone Township residents and community leaders are formally demanding the immediate removal of Trustee Chris Ropetea from the Tyrone Township Board of Trustees.
The call for removal comes after a documented pattern of actions deemed to be malfeasance and misfeasance in office, which has repeatedly distracted the Board, incurred unnecessary legal expenses for taxpayers, and undermined public trust in township governance.
Key Issues Leading to the Demand for Removal:
- Official Misconduct and Censure: Mr. Ropetea, along with other officials, was previously censured by the Board for generating and distributing a letter that falsely suggested it was an official, Board-approved document. This letter charged Planning Commission members with “non-feasance” and called them to a hearing, an action that misrepresented the Board’s authority and process.
