WASHINGTON, D.C. / HOWELL, MI — The Howell Area Chamber of Commerce
announces that Dianne Samples, Director of Programming and Engagement, has completed her
first year at Institute for Organization Management, the professional development program of the
U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The four-year nonprofit leadership training program was held at the
University of Arizona in Tucson.
“Institute graduates are recognized across the country as leaders in their industries and
organizations,” said Raymond P. Towle, IOM, CAE, the U.S. Chamber’s vice president of
Institute for Organization Management. “These individuals have the knowledge, skills, and
dedication necessary to achieve professional and organizational success in the dynamic
association and chamber industries.”
Reflecting on the experience, Samples said, “This first year at Institute for Organization
Management pushed me to think differently about leadership, engagement, and how chambers
help build strong communities and connected business ecosystems. What resonated most was
gaining fresh perspective from professionals across the country and bringing those ideas back to
share with our team and our members. I’m excited to keep working together to make sure our
programming stays relevant, meaningful, and impactful for the businesses and communities we
serve.”
Since its commencement in 1921, the Institute program has educated tens of thousands of
association, chamber, and nonprofit leaders on how to build stronger organizations, better serve
members, and become effective business advocates. Institute’s curriculum consists of four
weeklong sessions at university locations across the country, covering leadership, advocacy,
marketing, finance, membership, and organizational strategy.
Institute for Organization Management is the premier nonprofit professional development
program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, fostering individual growth through interactive
learning and national networking opportunities.
The Howell Area Chamber of Commerce is a catalyst for a vital business environment and an
exceptional community; connecting, advocating and leading on behalf of business and
community.
