
Livingston County Board of Commissioners Finalizes Major Public Safety and Infrastructure Investments
LIVINGSTON COUNTY, MI – At the final Board of Commissioners meeting of 2025, held on December 15, Chairman Jay R. Drick and the Board approved a series of critical resolutions aimed at bolstering public safety, improving county infrastructure, and ensuring the integrity of the 2026 election cycle.
Investing in Public Safety and Emergency Response A significant portion of the session focused on 911 Emergency Services. The Board approved a hardware and software overhaul for the dispatch system, along with a $495,000 grant application for a new Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system. To support the personnel behind these systems, a new Union agreement was reached to increase starting pay for 911 dispatchers.
Infrastructure and Facility Maintenance The Board authorized several essential upgrades to the County Jail, including the purchase of new boiler equipment, fire suppression upgrades, and basement remediation services. Lindout of LivCo was awarded the contract for architectural services to oversee these projects.
Governance and Appointments Several key appointments were finalized to ensure leadership stability into the new decade:
- Medical Examiner: Dr. M. Morley (Term through 12/31/30).
- Mental Health Board: Lisa Berry-Bovoski, Mary Sevio, and Pat Bridge (3-year terms).
Looking Ahead to 2026 In preparation for the upcoming election year, the Board authorized $125,000 for necessary supplies. Chairman Jay R. Drick, concluding his 2024-2025 term as Chair, closed the meeting with a message of gratitude and holiday tidings for the residents of Livingston County.
