The OCC Foundation, Inc, the charitable arm of the custom motorcycle shop, Orange County Choppers, announced today a ‘Stop the Violence’ motorcycle raffle in sponsorship with The Police Chiefs’ Association of Orange County, Inc. The net proceeds from the raffle will benefit the Center for HOPE, which serves at-risk youth vulnerable to the violence and gang activity in the City of Newburgh. Just 10,000 tickets at $20.00 each will be available for purchase through the Police Chiefs’ Association of Orange County and its partners, including Orange County Choppers. Tickets can be purchased at the OCC Retail Store & Showrooom at 14 Crossroads Court, Newburgh, NY, by calling toll-free to 1-877-608-BIKE or at www.occfoundation.org/rafflelp.
“We’re excited to be kicking off the OCC Foundation with a raffle to benefit the Newburgh youth anti-violence program through the Center for HOPE. With our partnership with the FBI’s InfraGard program, NSAC and others in the community we’ve got to get the word out to kids in Newburgh that there are options outside of gang culture,” said Paul Teutul, Sr, founder of Orange County Choppers.
“The commitment made by the OCC Foundation to help the development of the Center For HOPE in the City of Newburgh, will be instrumental in giving access to opportunities for the youth most at risk due to nationally recognized street violence and gang activities. The Center’s mission is to provide a place where youth can regain HOPE for their futures; a place to access diverse alternatives and link to existing resources; a place for youth to be heard, motivated and encouraged to achieve; a place for youth and parents to interact and strengthen relationships,” said Jo Anne Gurda, Center for HOPE Project Developer and Assistant to Commissioner of Orange County Department of Social Services.
The ‘Stop the Violence’ Greenie bike will be on display for the length of the raffle in OCC’s Retail Store and Showroom and the raffle drawing will take place there on March 19, 2011.
In addition to the ‘Stop the Violence’ chopper, Orange County Choppers built a custom FBI themed bike which will debut on American Chopper on TLC on Thursday, September 23 at 9pm ET/PT.
