Mayor Leon B. Jukowski, age 53, and proud father of two boys. He was born and raised in Pontiac. He was born on Pontiac’s south side and attended Webster Elementary. He is a graduate of Georgetown University where he received a degree in Developmental Economics and has a Law Degree from American University’s Washington College of Law.
His family has been in business in Pontiac for over 50 years, and Mayor Jukowski continues to invest here in Pontiac, using local contractors to help rehabilitate and restore buildings in our City. He donates space for Pontiac’s Unity Boxing team, helping provide year-round sports opportunities for young people in the City of Pontiac.
The Mayor and his family were the first to step forward and donate to the Pontiac Promise Zone, a program that will provide free college education to every qualified student who graduates from the Pontiac School System.
